HRIS Engineer


The HRIS Engineer will work closely with HR team, vendors, and contract resources to deliver enhancements to the Workday platform, develop objectives of a highly integrated and automated digital HR environment, coordinate and track the progress of HR digital projects.
  • Primary responsibilities are to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, to implement solutions and to coordinate activities related to project work plans.
  • Acts as project leader for implementations and in supporting system upgrades, changes and modifications.
  • Acts as the liaison between the assigned internal/external client groups(s) (Payroll, IT, Vendor Implementation Consultants, Software vendors, etc.)
  • Updates and maintains configurations in all Human Resource Information Systems, including configurations of interfaces.
  • Digital solution architect implementing and developing Business Systems strategy
  • Assure oversight and coordination between projects, sponsors, affected parties, and stakeholders
  • Compiles data and designs special reports by creating and modifying queries using the system’s reporting utilities as requested.
  • Analyze and provide summary statistics as requested
  • Serves as Tier 2 level system support for all Human Resource Information Systems
  • Work with the business to define data structures within Workday such as Positions, Job Families, Grades and Cost Centers. Ensure that those data structures align with integrated systems such as Active Directory and SAP.
  • Deliver continuous improvement through automation of manual tasks and increased efficiency of processes and workflows
  • Evaluate HR processes and interconnectedness of business processes to make sure data and reports are seamless for annual events, annual performance process, promotion process, hiring etc.
  • Own and deliver reporting, dashboards, and analytics for HR through the Workday reporting tool.
  • Manage Workday integrations in a highly integrated digital environment
  • Troubleshoots and resolves system issues or serves as organization's liaison to vendor technical support teams for resolution.
  • BSc in Computer Science, related field, or relevant qualifications including Workday certification required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Biotech, Tech or Information Technology
  • Proven work experience with Workday, cloud applications, and digital integration
  • Experience in QA, User Experience, and Business Analysis preferred
  • Data modeling and business process modeling skills strongly preferred
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Effective communicator to management, peers, and project partners
  • Comfortable under pressure
  • Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
  • Partner with multiple vendors to ensure costs are managed, service level agreements are met, and understand the vendor road map to plan for our own service level improvement
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders across HR to manage end-to-end process impact, design and development.
